New Parish Councillor

We welcome the co-option of a new Parish Councillor, David Fairbanks, who lives in The Old Rectory, Kingston Fields.

We also send our thanks and good wishes to our former Chair, Marion Shaw, a long-standing member of the council.  She also took on the key role of Planning Officer, leading the scrutiny of planning applications and their implications for community in Kingston, and reporting on our objections or reservations to the plans.  Marion has moved to Berkshire, to be nearer to her family.

We still have vacancies for parish councillors.  Although the parish is not divided into wards, it is important that we have members who can represent the interests of all parts of the village.  Currently we have 2 councillors based in the main part of the village (near the church and the village green), 2 councillors in New Kingston and 1 councillor in Station Road.  We have no councillors in or near Kingston Hall.

If you are interested in becoming a parish councillor, or want to know more about the role, please contact any of the current councillors or the parish clerk.
