Traffic Information

Click on the following Frixo link for access to a road travel reporting website that provides up to date traffic information.  Data is updated every 5 minutes using sensors placed on motorways and common A/B roads.

Buses

The following two services stop within the parish:

  • No. 865 runs from Normanton on Soar to Clifton.  The service is operated by Littles Travel.
  • No. 487 serves Gotham Primary School and East Leake Academy: it operates Monday to Friday during term time. To view the timetable click here.

The more regular Sky Link service runs between Loughborough and Nottingham via EM airport and Long Eaton. It stops in College Road Sutton Bonington, runs along Station Road (past the Station Hotel), over the River Soar and stops again by the Anchor Inn in Kegworth.

The Soar Valley Community Bus is a wonderful friendly service. The bus is owned by Nottinghamshire County Council and driven by authorised volunteers. The services which run through the parish are as follows:

  • The school bus to East Leake runs Monday to Friday during term time. To view the timetable click here

Trains

The new East Midlands Parkway Station is only 2 miles from the centre of the village and has a large car park (cost £7 per day, £5 per day off-peak).  The journey from there to London St Pancras International takes approximately 90 minutes.  There are also regular trains to Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and Lincoln.

Airport

Nottingham East Midlands Airport is approximately 5 miles from the centre of the village.

Roads

Junction 24 of the M1 is only 2 miles from the centre of the village.  From this junction there is also access to the M42 to Birmingham, to the A50 to Derby and Stoke on Trent and to the A453 to Nottingham.

WARNING – There is a weight limit of 7.5 tonnes (tons) on the roads through the village.  In addition, the railway bridge over Kegworth Road with a height limit of 3.8 metres (12ft 6ins).    Please take note of these restrictions when planning your route, particularly when using your SATNAV.
