Emergency Information

The Environment Agency has updated its Flood Warning service.  The codes it uses are:

FLOOD ALERT – Flooding is possible. Be prepared. – Used two hours to two days in advance of flooding.

FLOOD WARNING – Flooding is expected.  Immediate action required. – Used half an hour to one day in advance of flooding.

SEVERE FLOOD WARNING – Severe flooding.  Danger to life. – Used when flooding poses a significant threat to life.

Warning no longer in force – No further flooding is currently expected in your area. – Used when river conditions begin to return to normal.

Forecasts of flooding on the Environment Agency website www.environment-agency.gov.uk/flood are updated at least once a day.
